Assistance for Victims of Violent Crimes

Welcome!

Our services were created to assist victims of violent crime(s) free of charge.  While we will make every reasonable attempt to assist victims with expenses incurred by a crime, there is no guarantee that you, a family member, or the claimant will be approved for services.   Read below for more details:

Who is considered a Victim?

  • A person that was injured or died because of a crime
  • A person who came to the aid of victim and was hurt or died as a result
  • First responders who were injured or died while responding to a violent crime

Requirements:

  • The crime must have been reported to a law enforcement agency within a reasonable time.
  • The victim or applicant must cooperate with law enforcement agencies and their investigation.
  • You did not participate or share responsibility for the crime as a result of your behavior
  • Provide false information to The Crime Victims Division / Law Enforcement Agencies or any advocate of CVG attempting to assist you with your application

What Crimes are Covered?

  • Examples of violent crime: Assault, Child Abuse Child Sexual Assault, DWI, Elder Abuse, Family Violence, Hit and Run, Homicide, Human Trafficking, Kidnapping, Robbery, Sexual Assault, Stalking Terrorism and more.

    *In some states, identity theft and certain property crimes are not covered by the fund.

What Expenses are Covered?

  • Hospital Bills
  • Ambulance / EMS Bills
  • Doctors Bills
  • Funeral Expenses
  • Relocation (Family or Spouse Abuse)
  • Crime Scene Cleanup
  • Travel Expenses
  • Mental Health Appointments for PTSD

 

Expenses must related to the crime; or a direct result of the crime
