While we will make every reasonable attempt to assist victims with expenses incurred by a crime, there is no guarantee that you, a family member, or the claimant will be approved for services. Who is considered a Victim?
A person that was injured or died because of a crime
A person who came to the aid of victim and was hurt or died as a result
First responders who were injured or died while responding to a violent crime
Requirements:
The crime must have been reported to a law enforcement agency within a reasonable time.
The victim or applicant must cooperate with law enforcement agencies and their investigation.
You did not participate or share responsibility for the crime as a result of your behavior
Provide false information to The Crime Victims Division / Law Enforcement Agencies or any advocate of CVG attempting to assist you with your application
What Crimes are Covered?
Examples of violent crime: Assault, Child Abuse Child Sexual Assault, DWI, Elder Abuse, Family Violence, Hit and Run, Homicide, Human Trafficking, Kidnapping, Robbery, Sexual Assault, Stalking Terrorism and more.
*In some states, identity theft and certain property crimes are not covered by the fund.
